Common Punch

This enables nesting of adjacent parts in such a way that they share a punch.

NOTE: This is an Optional Advanced Module and needs to be licensed separately.

The common punch feature can be used to nest adjacent parts in such a way that they can share a punch fully or partially. While punching, this feature can be used to cut edges of two neighboring parts simultaneously.

Common punching can also be done selectively The user can specify the direction in which common punching should happen.

The layout obtained on using different common punch options is shown below.

Common Punching in All Direction

The red rectangular regions indicate the common punches between the parts. You will observe that the common punches are obtained in horizontal as well as vertical directions.

Common Punching in Vertical Direction

Here, you will observe that the common punches are obtained in vertical directions only.

Common Punching in Horizontal Direction

You will observe here that the common punches are obtained in horizontal directions only.

For each input part, Nestlib receives an attribute which determines whether the part should share a common punch with any other part.

Similarly, for each automatic pair, Nestlib will receive an attribute to determine whether the two part copies inside the pair can share a common punch with each other.
